New Title? You may have noticed that the title of this blog has changed from NE PATINS Rapid Fire to, PATINS-Project Rapid Fire. Your RSS feed for the blog, if you are a subscriber, shouldn’t change, but if it does or if you notice a different title, I just wanted to let you know that this is the same blog and you’re still in the right place! The blog will start to target more of the entire state of Indiana, rather than just my NE Region, but the content will remain the same for the most part.

Zeros Fail Students: Back on February 29th, I posted a little bit about the issue of zero-grading and offered Dave Edyburn’s bibliography as a resource. More Virtual Fridge Magnets: Back on December 14th, I posted about XML Education’s Virtual Fridge Magnets for working on sentence building, parts of speech, etc. This morning, while helping my daughters with their blog we came across another site offering virtual fridge magnets. These are a little more complex, and it gives you words automatically. The ones I posted back in December allow you to put your own words in. For example, I put my daughter’s word wall words in along with a few names and nouns that she is familiar with. HyperWords 3.6 for Firefox Browser: Hyperwords is a free addon/Toolbar extension for Firefox. It allows the user to interact with all words on a webpage, not just the hyperlinks! Look for it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1941
