Universal Design for Learning: Reach and Teach All Students Webinar Series – Part 1
Thursday, October 13, 2011 – 3:00 – 4:00 pm EST
This presentation will provide participants with information about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) that can help provide access to the general curriculum for all students including those with diverse learning needs and provides information on assistive technology. Universal Design for Learning assists in the planning and set-up of the learning environment by providing the flexibility for more or less support to access the general curriculum. Universal Design for Learning focuses on three kinds of flexibility: representation, to give learners various ways of acquiring information and knowledge; action and expression, to provide learners alternatives for demonstrating what they know; engagement, to tap into learners’ interests. Make a personal commitment to learn more about UDL.
During the 2011-2012 school year, the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI), in collaboration with Michigan’s Integrated Technology Supports (MITS) and Promoting Achievement through Technology and Instruction for All Students (PATINS) will provide a series of webinars that focus on assistive technology (AT), accessible instructional materials and universal design for learning (UDL).
